FROM WYNNUM RUGBY UNION CLUB

Wynnum Bugs is pleased to announce its expansion to offer a female program in 2023.

Ally Baines has been appointed to coach the inaugural senior women’s team.

To support the continued growth of the women’s division, the club has appointed Leighton Ireland to the position of Women’s Academy and Junior Pathway coach. Leighton will lead and develop the girls’ rugby academy.

The girls’ academy will be a training squad focusing on specific rugby drills and fitness to help them understand and transition into rugby. The program grows each week and represents an exciting development for the club in 2023.

If you’re interested in joining the Bugs for the inaugural year of the womens’ rugby program as a player, sponsor or coach, please email Dan Power at [email protected].
