STATE MEMBER FOR LYTTON
Bayside Events
I recently attended the Bayside Voice to Parliament Town Hall event, hosted by Wynnum/Manly4YES.
It was a fantastic opportunity to hold honest, robust discussions about the Voice to Parliament, what it means, and how it will progress us as a Bayside and a nation.
A special thank you to the presenters, Cameron Costello, Sallyanne Atkinson AO, and Dr Jackie Huggins, along with MC Aunty Becky Thomson from Winnam for your insightful words and commentary.
Queensland Remembers Grants Program
A new round of the Queensland Remembers Grants Program has been announced that pledges substantial funding to eligible organisations to help support our veterans.
Eligibility extends to organisations dedicated to serving the veterans’ community, including ex-service organisations, not-for-profit entities committed to veterans’ welfare, and local councils.

WESTPAC Wynnum Falls out of Love with the Bayside
I was extremely disappointed to hear recently that the Westpac Wynnum Branch will shortly be closing its doors for good on our Bayside.
Baysiders will now be forced to learn how to do all their banking online, use AusPost, or else travel all the way to Capalaba to continue face-to-face banking.
This is an enormous slap in the face for our Bayside. Having a local bank branch is critical to keeping banking accessible for all.
Please sign my petition to show Westpac how disappointed you are in them: https://bit.ly/3DGSnb3
New Bill Busting Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate
Baysiders will soon be able to upgrade to new, energy-efficient appliances with rebates of up to $1000 to around 40,000 eligible households in Queensland.
The initiative is set to kick off in September 2023, allowing eligible households to take advantage of substantial savings on energy-efficient appliance such as washing machines, fridges, dryers, air-conditioners and hot water systems.

Farewell Manson Framers
It is with heart-felt sadness to hear that Manson Framers has closed its doors for the final time in our Bayside.
The store was an iconic and beautiful family business that provided our Bayside with a much-loved go-to for framing and art supplies in the Wynnum Manly community.
First opening in 1964, the closure of the store marks the end of an era after almost 60 years of trade.
I wish Cameron and Sharon all the best on their next endeavours. You will be dearly missed.
