Massive $1300 Energy Bill Relief

I am incredibly excited that every Baysider will see $1,300 slashed from their energy bill, with $1,000 up front thanks to the Queensland Government and an extra $300 from the Federal Government.

That means most Bayside households won’t pay a cent on their energy bill until March 2025.

Plus, Bayside small businesses will also receive $650 off their bill.

It’s only possible because we’re making the multinational mining companies pay their fair share and because we kept our energy assets in public hands.

Bayside DV Candlelight Vigil

Thursday, 9 May 2024 marked the Bayside DV Candlelight Vigil, an important annual event where we take a stand against domestic and family violence (DFV) in our community.

Nearly 200 Baysiders braved the rain to attend the Vigil. This year, we were fortunate to have Ros Kinder from Brisbane East Zonta speak about the importance of being united in creating positive social change – that we are all part of the solution.

It was also wonderful to see so many of our Bayside school students and their families; our Police officers; business owners; and members of our local community groups, including BABI, the Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly and SCOPE.

Bayside and Redlands Transport Study

Planning is underway to consider transport priorities in the Bayside and Redlands area.

TMR would like to know about your travel experiences to better understand the transport challenges and opportunities within the study area, both now, and for the future.

The study will investigate how the transport network can manage future demand within the region to support population and economic growth.

I encourage Baysiders to provide their feedback, including on traffic and pedestrian movements, freight, access to public transport services, bus, train, cycling connections, park ‘n’ ride facilities and the road network.
