STATE MEMBER FOR LYTTON

Lindum Station Accessibility Upgrade Full Steam Ahead

Baysiders the Lindum Station upgrade is full steam ahead and in January the station will close to the public to build new platforms, new footbridge and lift and many other features. Closing the station is the safest option for all customers. I know that this will cause some inconvenience, however the end results will be an outstanding new station that provides full accessibility for all customers .

To ensure everyone is prepared for this closure, Queensland Rail has been on station engaging with customers and is developing an Alternative Transport Plan to meet the needs of all customers.

Queensland Rail will continue to engage with customers throughout the project.

Morningside and Buranda Stations on the Cleveland line are
also receiving significant upgrades and will be closed during
these works.

Customers can find additional information on the upgrade by visiting https://bit.ly/3EGpzjq  to the Queensland Rail website and you can sign up for regular project updates at:

Additionally if you have an enquiry you can either call 1800 722 203 or email [email protected].

Welcome Back Vinnies

Baysiders may have noticed that for the last month, Vinnies on Edith Street, Wynnum has been closed. Following some important building works, I am happy to advise that the store is once again open.

I know all the Vinnies staff and volunteers are very excited to be open to our Bayside once again and I would encourage Baysiders to stop by next time you’re on Edith street and welcome the team back.

Airservices Australia Noise Action Plan Update

I would like to thank Baysiders who attended the recent Airservices Australia community consultation sessions for the new Noise Action Plan for Brisbane. Your feedback, insights and advice will help Airservices Australia develop a plan that is sensible and preserves the beautiful Bayside lifestyle that we all love.

Airservices Australia have informed me that following community consultation, they are progessing several recommendations and will present a third round of design options for community feedback after the school holidays. I will continue to keep Baysiders updated on further developments in this space!

New Australian Citizens Welcomed to the Bayside

I recently had the pleasure of attending our Bayside’s citizenship ceremony.

It was wonderful to see so many individuals and families taking their pledges and becoming a part of this beautiful country that we call home.

Lytton is a wonderful, vibrant place to live and I’m proud to be your strong, community-driven advocate who is standing up for the Bayside. I hope you enjoy each and every day in our beautiful Bayside!
