STATE MEMBER FOR LYTTON
REGISTER TO DONATE LIFE
I’m a registered organ donor. Since the Donate Life national program first began in 2009, 19,469 people have received life-saving transplants from 6,944 deceased organ donors.
One of those recipients was adorable Harry (pictured) from Wynnum West. He had world-leading heart surgery at just 12 days old. A life-threatening condition was turned into a straightforward and successful procedure thanks to donated tissue.
Did you know one donor can save up to 7 lives. Register today and you can help save a life, just like Harry’s! Simply go to donatelife.gov.au.
VEHICLE REGO RISE IN SEPTEMBER
From September 2025, Queensland vehicle registration fees will increase by 24 per cent as part of changes announced in the State Budget. This means that most Queenslanders will notice a significant jump in their next registration renewal. For the average car owner, the increase is expected to add approximately $88 to the cost of annual registration.
This change comes as the current registration discount, which was previously introduced as a cost-of-living measure, comes to an end. Motorists are encouraged to check the Department of Transport and Main Roads website for updated pricing and renewal dates.

CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF 50 CENT FARES
It’s now been one year since Labor’s 50-cent fares rolled out across Queensland’s public transport – a game-changing cost-of-living measure that’s saved Queenslanders millions on public transport. It’s made travel more affordable, reduced congestion, and helped families keep more savings in their pockets.
But the LNP Government still refuses to legislate this initiative to make it permanent. Labor introduced this measure to ease pressure on everyday Queenslanders – and we’ll keep fighting to lock in affordable transport for the long term.

LEAGUES CLUB SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
A heartfelt thanks to the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club for supporting our vibrant Bayside community through their 2025 Community Grants Program. Some 20 local schools, clubs, and service organisations were awarded a total of $68,570 last month – recognising their incredible contribution to our region.
These grants are more than funding – they’re an investment in connection, opportunity, and brighter futures. Congratulations to all the community grants recipients. The Wynnum Manly Leagues Club continues to make a significant contribution to our local community, with donations totalling approximately $21 million over the years.
