HAVE YOU VISITED OUR ISLANDS?
Our Southern Moreton Bay Islands are gems that fringe our Redlands Coast and we have an amazing creative community across them. Our Macleay Island Arts Complex is one of the fantastic organisations that is about to undergo a huge transformation with a $2M refurbishment of their facility. It was lovely to share in the celebrations of works commencing with so many fabulous artists at their recent demolition auction party. Translink operate regular ferries to all four Southern Moreton Bay Islands and there are wonderful new ferry terminals on each island that are nearing completion with community pontoons to fish from or tie up your boat to.
COMMUNITY GRANTS
It was fantastic to host our recent Community Grants Writing Workshop with a fantastic turnout from a range of community organisations in attendance. Round 118 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is now open for community groups to apply for up to $35,000 to fund their next project. Across the Redlands from our sporting clubs to our P&C’s a range of projects have been funded. From ride on mowers for the sports field through to kilns for our arts groups, there is opportunity for local groups to fund equipment and infrastructure, just like our successful Isle of Coochie Golf Club and their new shade structure.
