Redlands has a rich sporting history and has produced many champions across various sports. Now, it’s time to recognise these people, past and present, across the broader community with the establishment of a Sporting Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame also incorporates the Sports Awards for community sporting clubs in Redlands. The Redlands Coast Sporting Hall of Fame and Sports Awards aims to create a sustainable environment that recognises world-class athletes, present and past, who began their journeys in the Redlands.

The Hall of Fame will also raise awareness of the history of sport in Redlands and pay tribute to up-and-coming athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and organisations that have significantly contributed to the development of the Redland Coast sporting community.

All sporting clubs are encouraged to embrace the concept and submit nominations for suitable inductees into the Hall of Fame and the Sports Awards. Inductees and Sport Awards recipients will be announced at a dinner in November this year. All sporting clubs are also encouraged to post their history and achievements on the website so everyone in Redlands will be aware of our clubs’ successes.

The awards dinner is a celebration of sport in Redlands. It will be held at Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club on Saturday, November 16. Tickets are $105.00 per person or $1050.00 for a table of 10. Dress code is Black Tie. The evening’s guest speaker is Australia’s first Winter Olympics Gold Medallist, Stephen Bradbury. Major event sponsors are Redland City Storage and SS Training Pty Ltd.

Awards nominations open on August 1 and close on September 30.
