Kane Nelson recently achieved the remarkable feat of becoming a double gold medallist at the 2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship held in Hong Kong.
He not only secured a gold medal in the mixed pairs alongside Kira Bourke, but also triumphed later that day in the men’s singles against Scotland’s Paul Innes. The match against Innes was intense, coming down to the final moments, but Nelson maintained his composure to secure both the victory and his first international medal.
Earlier this year, Kane also won gold in the men’s triples and fours at the Australian Championships, and he is currently ranked number one in Australia.
Kane is a proud member of the Capalaba Comets, based at the Capalaba Sports Club on Ney Road, Capalaba. When he’s not honing his skills on the undercover greens, he dedicates his time to teaching and mentoring junior players, sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport he loves.
