The Redlands Rays Baseball Club has just concluded a remarkable season across multiple divisions. Well done to our baseball community!

In Division 1, the Rays showcased their prowess, finishing as worthy runners-up for the season. Their stellar performance is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players, as well as the coaching by Rhys Niit, who relentlessly pursues excellence on the field.

Meanwhile, in Division 6, the Rays emerged as champions, seizing the Gold. It’s a moment of immense pride for everyone associated with the club and team. Congratulations to Dennis Fletcher and his team.

The Junior League Division 2 Stingrays, led by Baseball Qld Coach of the Month Scott McLean, also made their mark, securing a commendable second-place finish. Despite falling short of the top spot, their determination and resilience throughout the season set a shining example for aspiring young players within the club and beyond.

In the Master’s Division 2, the Roughtails engaged in an epic battle with Pine Hills. They ultimately clinched the silver medal after winning the competition for the south side of the River. Their hard-fought journey to the podium epitomizes the competitive spirit and camaraderie shaping our baseball community. The Roughtails, led by Matthew Vickers, also competed in the 2024 Masters State Titles held at Surfers Paradise in April, taking out Gold undefeated.

The Queensland School Championship for 12 to 14 years showcased exceptional talent from young baseballers across the region. Among the Rays’ standout performers were Patrick Kennedy, Charlie Power, Blake Roberts, Nate Tranter, Zavier Milonas, Harry Stone, Sienna Fens, Amelia Stephens, and Ky Jackson, who represented Met East and secured a commendable bronze medal finish. Seth Lutton (not pictured) represented South Coast with distinction, and his team finished runners-up.

These athletes displayed remarkable skill and determination on the field. Earning recognition for their outstanding efforts, Nate and Ky were awarded MVP honours. Notably, Amelia and Zavier each collected two MVP awards and were selected for the Queensland Merit team, a testament to their consistent excellence and standout performances throughout the tournament.
