What is your name? I am Kona.
Where do you live? In Tingalpa, with my two favourite humans – Dad and Mum! Dad is a postman but I try to keep that a secret from other dogs!
How long have you lived there? I’ve been here my whole life, all glorious seven years of it.
Favourite local walk? Easy! The Wynnum/Manly foreshore. Sundays are the best because of the markets. They have this amazing doggie biscuit stall where I get the yummiest treats. When I wear my cute pink bow I get extra!
Most treasured toy? My all-time favourite is Chook. He’s been my trusty sidekick since puppyhood, keeping me company in the kennel at night. He’s a little scruffy, but hey, so am I!
What’s your favourite food? Listen, I’m a Labradoodle; if it’s edible, I love it. Even those sneaky worming tablets Mum hides in my mince. But roast chicken skin? Oooooh, if Dad brings that home, I’m in heaven!
Your worst habit? Barking at our postman. Now, I know what you’re thinking – why bark at the postman if my dad’s one too? Well, Dad’s cool, but this other guy? No way. It’s my duty to keep him on his toes!
Your favourite local hangout? Our front veranda. Best view of the whole street,
and it’s my perfect lookout spot. Mum’s coming home from work? I’m there, ready to greet her right at the door!
Who is your best doggo friend? Maui, my fur-brother… who happens to be a cat. But he’s a Burmese so practically one of us – he can even fetch!
Do you have any funny or embarrassing stories? Oh, here’s one for you. One morning Mum took me on a quick neighbourhood stroll. Right as we’re crossing the street, I realise I’ve gotta do my business. Like, immediately. Right there in the middle of the road. Mum was not impressed as she cleaned up while checking for cars. Whoops!
What do people love most about you? Dad says I’m a caring soul. At the dog park, I’m the peacekeeper – if play gets too rowdy, I’m there to check in and make sure everyone’s alright. Guess I’m just a big ol’ softie!
