What’s your name? Hi, my name is Rafiki.
What suburb do you live in? I’m from Wynnum.
How long have you lived there? For 14 years.
What is your favourite local walk? I love going to the foreshore, and I let my brother walk in front of me so I don’t have to socialise with other dogs.
What is your most treasured toy? My favourite toy used to be a blue duck, but it’s now the headless body of that duck. I like to bring it with me for emotional support, and I use it as a pillow when I’m sleepy.
What is your favourite food? Literally anything. I have eaten nuts and bolts, a kilo of fruit cake, water balloons…
What is your worst habit? Licking. When I’m not holding a toy, I get anxious and lick people (especially when they tell me not to).
What’s your favourite local hangout? Wherever my little brother Monty is. Wherever he is, I must be too (and as close to him as possible).
Who is your best doggo friend? My best friend is Monty. He is a black Labrador, and he is turning eight soon. We’re inseparable and have been since we met.
Do you have any funny or embarrassing stories you’d like to share? To get attention (and food) when I was younger, I would carry my food bowl everywhere. If that didn’t work, I would loudly drop it in front of my family.
What do people love most about you? I’m a gentle giant. I’m taller than other Labradors, but I have the heart of a much smaller dog.
