Founded in December 2022, the Ormiston Crushers Basketball Club has quickly established itself as a vibrant part of the Redlands sporting community. What began as a solution for two local families seeking a place for their children to play basketball has grown into a thriving organisation that opens doors for young athletes across the region.
The Crushers pride themselves on being family-focused, offering a welcoming environment where children of all ages can learn, compete, and develop a lifelong love of the game. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers ensures every player feels supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their potential.
Leadership has been a key driver of the club’s success. Twelve months ago, Toby Simm took on the role of president, joining founding committee members Leigh and Jackie. Together, they bring passion for basketball, strong community spirit, and renewed energy to guide the Crushers into their next phase of growth. Under their direction, the club continues to expand its reach, strengthen community connections, and inspire the next generation of players.
Through teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to inclusivity, the Ormiston Crushers are shaping the future of basketball in the Redlands – one family, and one game, at a time.
