Despite the rainy weather, the Redlands Lawn Tennis Association at Cleveland celebrated its annual House Carnival competition recently, with enthusiasm and success. This event, which has been a tradition for six years now, continues to be a highlight for the club and its members.

The House Carnival, conceived by President Will Fraser in 2019 during his tenure on the committee, has become a beloved fixture in the club’s calendar. This year, it brought together 64 players, all club members, who were divided into the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow Houses for a thrilling doubles tournament. In a display of skill and teamwork, Yellow House emerged victorious in 2024, adding to the event’s legacy of friendly competition and camaraderie.

Among the notable attendees was Tennis Queensland’s Tennis Development Officer, Kellie Melia, who graced the event with her presence and support for grassroots tennis initiatives. President Will Fraser expressed his delight at the event’s success despite the inclement weather, highlighting it as a valuable opportunity for community players to come together in a tennis-centric social environment.

“The House Carnival has grown from a humble beginning into a cherished tradition,” remarked President Fraser. “It’s not just about the games; it’s about fostering friendships, building team spirit, and creating lasting memories on the court.”

The Redlands Lawn Tennis Association, a non-profit organisation and the oldest and largest club in the Redlands region, boasts nine floodlit synthetic grass courts. Its operations are powered by dedicated volunteers and an executive committee, with the assistance and guidance of Club Manager Damian Waddell from Adrenalin Tennis. The club prides itself on its inclusivity, welcoming players of all skill levels to participate in social tennis, singles and doubles competitions, and coaching programs.

As the House Carnival wraps up another successful year, the Redlands Lawn Tennis Association looks forward to continuing its mission of promoting tennis excellence and community engagement, rain or shine. For more information go to www.adrenalintennis.com.au.
