As we approach the 2022 season kick-off, the mighty Wynnum Manly Junior Rugby League Club’s teams have shown a lot of promise throughout the trial matches.
The BRL A grade team has had two trial games resulting in comprehensive wins for the Seagulls. Their first two regular-season home games are against Wests on the 2nd of April and then against Souths on the 23rd of April. These are fantastic opportunities to enjoy high-level local footy down at Kitchener Park.
In the ever-growing girls’ rugby league space, the Under 14s’ first game was successful against Beaudesert, with a dominant 40-12 victory. Despite only having three girls who have played rugby league before, the girls have formed a strong bond, which is evident in their strong round one victory.
Most of the younger kids will kick off their season after Easter. Some spots are still available as teams are selected in the coming weeks. The Seagulls is a grassroots organisation that prides itself on making everyone feel welcome.
