What an incredible finish to the season for our Wynnum Vikings, with two premiership-winning teams bringing home the glory!

Our U13 girls’ Division 4 team made history this year as the first female team from the club to claim a premiership title. The season began with low numbers, but thanks to the determination of the players and their families, who reached out to friends and networks, the team steadily grew. Their development and teamwork on the field enabled them to finish the season at the top of the ladder. With grit, skill, and plenty of Viking spirit, they secured the first-ever girls’ premiership for the club – a milestone moment that will inspire future generations of female players.

This is just the beginning of building our female program at Wynnum, and we look forward to seeing even more youth girls’ teams join the Viking family in the years ahead.

Our Under 15 Division 3 boys also showed what true Viking determination looks like. From the very beginning, they trained hard, put in the effort, and continued to build throughout the season. Their persistence paid off, finishing the season as minor premiers and then powering through to victory. Their commitment and hard work were rewarded as they proudly lifted the premiership cup – a moment they will never forget.

Both teams have shown that when passion, teamwork, and hard work come together, incredible things can be achieved.

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers, coaches, team managers, and families who give their time and energy to get our players on the field each week. These premierships are just as much yours as they are the players.
