BABI Youth & Family Service and the local community have been delivering the BayWave Youth Festival for over 15 years, and it remains the longest-running youth festival in the area.

BABI is the leading youth and family service provider in the Wynnum/Redlands region, responding to the needs of young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness since 1983. Key pioneers were Marie Stokes and Reverend Wally Dethlefs, both of whom continue to support BABI today.

The annual BayWave Youth Festival celebrates and recognises the importance and achievements of young people in the local community. The festival shows appreciation for the diversity and creative passions of young people, whether it’s through music, performances, sports, or competitions.

It is a fun day out for the entire family and community to enjoy and a completely free event. Come down to Lota Skatepark on the 12th of April from 12pm to 5pm for entertainment, stalls, food, young talent, and more. Why not try out the skatepark, play basketball with our very own Brisbane Bullets, or even get your face painted?

This festival is funded by the Brisbane City Council, which also funds our LINX space at BABI Youth & Family Service.

BABI and the local community look forward to seeing you all there!

The BayWave Youth Festival will be held at Lota Skatepark on April 12 from 12pm to 5pm.
