FROM THE OFFICE OF CR PETER CUMMING

The Wynnum Manly Australia Day Breakfast will return in 2023, following a two-year pandemic-imposed hiatus.

The Australia Day Breakfast will take place on Thursday, 26 January 2023, from 7am until 12 noon at Bandstand Park, Manly.

The free, family-friendly festivities will include:

  • Rides
  • Entertainment on the bandstand
  • A sausage sizzle
  • Other delicious treats such as pancakes and popcorn

As usual, the children’s colouring-in competition will take place, with forms available from Cr Peter Cumming’s office (212 Bay Terrace, Wynnum) with prizes such as bikes generously provided by the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club.

The Scope Australia Day Awards will also be announced on the day. The Scope award celebrates those who have given their time as a volunteer helping those less fortunate.

Those nominated must be older than eighteen, and their volunteer work must not be part of their normal paid duties. Nominations, including a brief history of the nominee and their community activities, can be sent to PO Box 184, Wynnum QLD 4178, by 13 January.

The Wynnum Manly Australia Day Breakfast is made possible by funding through the Brisbane City Council Community Fund, which is managed by Cr Peter Cumming. It would not be possible without the support of Port of Brisbane Rotary, Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly, Wynnum Manly Leagues Club, Wynnum RSL, Scope Club of Wynnum, Quota Club of Wynnum, Wynnum Red Cross, Wynnum Scouts, Wynnum Vikings Australian Rules Football Club and the Bay Belles CWA Group.
