FROM THE BAYSIDE COMMUNITY FUND

On behalf of the Bayside Community Fund, we would like to thank and acknowledge the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron for its recent donation of $5,000, along with the team from Celebrate for a Cause, who will donate a percentage of proceeds from their October event to the Bayside Community Fund.

For those who have not heard of the Bayside Community Fund, it was established in May 2022 and is a sub-fund of the Queensland Community Foundation, supported by the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and The Public Trustee. They collectively manage over $110,000,000, the investment proceeds of which are returned to the community across Queensland.

The Bayside Community Fund will benefit non-profit groups in the electorate of Lytton. Funds deposited into the fund will be invested by the QIC and remain there in perpetuity, the dividends being distributed yearly to those in the electorate who are in need in the form of grants. Most importantly, these funds belong to the community.

While the returns in the short-term will not be great, we encourage those with community spirit, an interest in fundraising and in donating money for the future betterment of our community to consider working with the Bayside Community Fund’s committee to discuss ideas on how to get involved in leaving a legacy to benefit the future of this great area.
