Bayside United Sports & Recreation Club has been announced as a recipient of the CommBank Flood Relief Fund. The much-needed funding of $10,000 will support repair efforts and restoration of their club facilities.

Mandy Williams from CommBank Wynnum Branch visited Bayside United and presented the club with the grant, and heard more about the repairs to their main playing field which was affected by salt water from the local tidal creek.

Laura Holloway, CommBank Wynnum Branch Manager, says the bank focused on directing $2 million of vital funding to community organisations as quickly as possible to help with their recovery efforts.

“We know the community is still feeling the devastating effects of losing homes and businesses in the floods. Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by these heart-breaking scenes the nation witnessed not so long ago.

“In addition to supporting 1.5 million of our customers directly impacted by the floods, we also understand the important role local organisations play as communities recover. That’s why we launched the CommBank Flood Relief Fund and are providing $2 million to support our customers and local community organisations as they rebuild.

“Flood-impacted community organisations have been able to access up to $10,000 in CommBank grant funding to assist them with clean-up, rebuild and recovery and we are now focused on getting this money to them as quickly as possible,” said Ms Holloway.
