FROM WYNNUM RSL WOMEN’S AUXILIARY SUB-BRANCH

Wynnum RSL Sub-Branch Women’s Auxiliary is looking for new members. Here’s a summary of what we do and why you might be interested in joining.

We aim to support the RSL Sub-Branch and the veteran community. It is a myth that our association is a “ladies sewing or knitting group”; we are an integral part of the RSL. We come under the RSL Sub-Branch and are governed by By-Law 6 of the RSL (Qld) State Rules.

Welfare is a major part of each auxiliary. The welfare of its members, the veteran community and the community, youth and the serving military are particularly important.

Being a member of the RSL Women’s Auxiliary is a rewarding experience; it brings new friends, new ideals and a great deal of satisfaction.

RSL Women’s Auxiliaries have been running for over 90 years and need new members to continue their welfare and community work.

The Wynnum RSL Sub-Branch Women’s Auxiliary meets on the second Wednesday of each month, hosts a morning tea on the fourth Monday and indoor bowls on the second Tuesday. We raise money in various ways, notably selling merchandise leading up to ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. We also organise outings, bus trips, BBQs, luncheons and functions for our members.

Any woman who upholds the values of the RSL is eligible to become a member. There is no need to have a military or service background to join.

If you want to meet new friends, would like to donate your time to a very worthy cause, or want to feel a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction, please do not hesitate to contact the secretary by email: [email protected] or call the club on 3396 7333 and they will get a message to us.

This is your opportunity to become involved as a part of a respected group of women, aid the veteran community, become a volunteer, help the RSL and have fun!
