On an early Friday morning in February, the Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce hosted its inaugural Building Business Resilience interactive breakfast at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, with the theme Activate Your Brand, Market Your Business. Close to 50 members and guests were presented with the necessary business tools and strategies to improve and enhance their business skills, knowledge and business performance.

Two well-known local speakers were Michelle O’Hara from OH! Marketing and Karl Schwantes of My 5 Star Reviews. We were fortunate to have Emily Moore, Manager Brisbane Business Hub, as our MC, who kept the morning humming and on task.

Michelle is passionate about aligning business with branding, marketing and sales strategies that generate revenue, philosophies that were evident in her presentation. Michelle highlighted the 2023 traditional and digital marketing trends and covered the must-have “nine Ps” for an effective marketing strategy for 2023, identifying the “new-look” lead and how to convert it.

Our second presenter, Karl Schwantes, is the owner of Xennox Diamonds, a 44-year-old second-generation family business. Karl’s skill lies not just in making unique jewellery but also in crafting phenomenal experiences with clients. In the second session, Karl worked through his My 5 Star Review formula to help achieve three important outcomes: incontestable online reputation, the flow of new business leads and remarkable client experiences.

Watch out for details for the second breakfast scheduled for Friday May 12.
