Australian Army Cadets is a national youth development program that shares the character and values of the Australian Army. The Australian Defence Force supports the program, and young people between the ages of 13 and 17 can join.

During a typical year, cadets experience and learn basic skills in home and field environments. Training includes dress and bearing, drill and ceremonial, field craft, bush survival, navigation, first-aid skills and many other exciting activities.

Why join? Cadets can challenge themselves and achieve goals as part of a team, increase resilience and personal confidence, make new friends, and support the community through activities such as Anzac and Remembrance Days and Legacy.

The local 121 Army Cadet Unit parades Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Brisbane Bayside College (Network drive, Wynnum) and can be contacted via the website: www.armycadets.gov.au, email: [email protected] or by phone at 0418 787 763.

If you’re interested in joining, enrolments are now open for 2024. To join, make sure you meet the age requirements, then log on to
https://www.armycadets.gov.au/find-a-unit/ to find a unit near you.
