FROM SAILABILITY BAYSIDE

Sailability Bayside likes to reward its many volunteers with an annual function, usually held at the start of each year; however, the past two years have been disrupted by the Covid pandemic.

Due to restrictions in 2021 and 2022, the event was delayed until April, though this didn’t deter the enthusiasm of those attending. This year’s theme for the dinner was “The Roaring Twenties”, held at the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club function room, where the volunteers let their hair down and enjoyed the party atmosphere.

During the evening, presentations for Volunteer of the Year, Long Service, and Life Membership were awarded to those volunteers whose dedication and passion have been recognised by their peers.

Local community representatives Joan Pease (MP Lytton), Peter Cumming (Cr. Wynnum Ward) and Ross Vasta (MP Bonner) contributed to the success of the evening, supplying prizes for the raffle as well as their support for Sailing for People with Disability as provided by Sailability Bayside.
