The Wynnum Manly and District Men’s Shed members, like many others, were busy in the community cleaning up after the recent wild storms. Of particular focus was removing fallen trees that were threatening to clog up the Elanora Park stormwater canal. This area is a wonderful walking precinct in Wynnum, with access to the esplanade, the mangrove boardwalks, and Elanora Park ovals.

A natural highlight for walkers is viewing the schools of fish entering the canal on the rising tide and watching the waters ‘boil’ while feeding the different species that enter to forage in the canal.

The Men’s Shed members, in collaboration with Wynnum Manly Ward Councillor Sara Whitmee, work together to keep the canal rubbish-free, to ensure the continuation of this delightful natural phenomenon for the pleasure of those who exercise in the area.
