At the Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly’s final meeting for the year the club enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration with club members, family and friends at the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club.

To make the night even more special the Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly were delighted to recognise local Raine & Horne real estate principal Margaret Vote and award her a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) for her major contribution to the success of the Wynnum Fringe Festival for a second year in a row. Through her efforts Margaret has been instrumental in helping the creative community grow and flourish and play a part in introducing Wynnum and Manly to the greater Brisbane community.

Being recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow is not about rich or poor, famous or unknown, but about how that person has in their own small way made this world a better place to live, whether it is in the local community, nationally or internationally.

Whilst many Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly members have been recognised with a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) for their efforts over the years, the club has also recognised a number of members of the general public as well. These recipients have been seen by the club and its members to be “doing good in the world”.

In being presented with a Paul Harris Fellow, Margaret joins a remarkable company of people throughout the world, all recognised for their commitment to “Service Above Self” to benefit local and international communities. We congratulate Margaret Vote and welcome her as our newest Paul Harris recipient.
