Resident of the Month: Aimee` Dougan

Aimee` has lived in Victoria Point and the Redlands for over 20 years and loves the casual lifestyle and the friendliness of people here. “One of my favourite things is waking every morning and walking my dog by the beach,” says Aimee`.

“I love looking beyond our beaches and boats moored in calm, still waters and out to the beautiful bay islands.

“I feel so grateful to live in such a sharing and giving place. Being here has meant that my daughters have had a healthy, safe place to grow up with the best of educational and social facilities.”

Aimee` is very connected to the community and has worked as a nurse with Blue Care for over eight years.

“I found my calling working as a community nurse. I value that I can support people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. This improves their quality of life and makes me really happy. It has been so heart-warming to see how families step up and work together to support their loved ones who are going through difficult times.”

When she is not working, Aimee provides a home for chickens, bees, and a multitude of fruit trees. She gets to share her honey, eggs and famous passionfruit with neighbours and friends.

“Janet Bennett has been there, right from the beginning of my life in the Redlands. She started as a real estate agent for us and has become a friend. Janet cares about the community and she cares about people. She takes the time to reach out to offer friendship and support.”
