FROM REDLAND HOSPITAL

To celebrate Grandparents Day during Seniors Month, the Eat Walk Engage team at Redland Hospital organised a special delivery of artwork from local kindergartens and prep students to brighten Macleay Ward.

Patients were given cheerful drawings and bookmarks made by young children to celebrate the day.

Miss Prue from Bayside Park Early Education Centre was joined by Addison (4) and Eddie (5) to deliver artwork to patient Regina.

The children’s bookmarks included uplifting messages, with Addison’s reading “I am brave” and Eddie’s saying “I am helpful”.

Eat Walk Engage Macleay Ward’s Nurse Unit Manager Amuly Iluri loved hosting Addison and Eddie at their special visit.

“The artwork is cheery and super cute, and just a little touch of home to make life more comfortable for patients on our ward,” she said.

The Eat Walk Engage program is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of older patients by promoting nutritious eating, walking, and cognitive engagement.

The artwork initiative is part of the program’s efforts to keep patients connected to their community and enhance their hospital experience.

Thanks to all the local schools and kindergartens who took part.
