The bayside community will soon be invited to have their say on the future of the foreshore.

Community consultation for a new masterplan along the Wynnum, Lota and Manly foreshores will open from February 3, 2025.

The development of a new masterplan was announced in the Lord Mayor’s 2024-2025 Council Budget, where funding was committed to regenerate Brisbane’s historic waterfront and enhance the bayside’s incredible lifestyle offerings.

The 20-year masterplan will revitalise the stretch from Wynnum Creek to Lota. Further details on the consultation will be released in the new year.

“Brisbane is Australia’s lifestyle capital, and we are committed to delivering more to see and do in our suburbs,” said Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner.

“The Wynnum, Lota, and Manly foreshores are such a special part of Brisbane, and we want to make them even better.

“We’re already delivering a major upgrade of the children’s playground near the Wynnum Wading Pool, but I know there are a lot of ideas about what else we can do.

“Brisbane is one of the best places in the world to live, and this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Brisbane’s bayside.”

Wynnum Manly Ward Councillor Alex Givney says she is excited to work alongside the Lord Mayor to make this community we love even better.

“We are aware that local residents have amazing ideas for improving the foreshore from Wynnum to Lota and want everyone to have an opportunity to shape its future,” said Cr Givney.

“We’re here to listen to local residents and businesses to bring fresh energy and life to this beautiful part of Brisbane and look forward to hearing these ideas during our upcoming community consultation in 2025.”
