Dental on Cambridge is a family-owned practice on Cambridge Parade in Manly, and is always looking for ways to give back to the local community.
In the lead up to Christmas, Dental on Cambridge will be partnering with the local BABI Youth and Family Service in Wynnum, a non-profit organisation that provides integral services to the bayside community by responding to the needs of young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Christmas is often a difficult time of year for BABI’s service users, so in preparation for the season of giving, Dental on Cambridge will be donating (as well as collecting) luxury toiletries during the month of November at their practice.
“The practice is often approached for donations by larger organisations across Brisbane, but we really
want to be able to focus our charitable efforts within our local community,” said Dental on Cambridge’s Chantelle Ritchie.
“While any donation will be warmly accepted, we’re asking the community to purchase an additional product that they would normally purchase for themselves, or items that they would purchase as a gift for a friend.”
Examples of suitable products include body wash, nice soaps, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant/body spray, hand towels, soaps, body lotion, perfume, razors, shaving cream, hair styling products, face masks, nail clippers, and hair accessories like brushes, combs and hair ties.
Items for young men are often overlooked, so any male-specific items would be fantastic.
In December, the Dental on Cambridge team will collate the donated items together into hampers, along with their own donations of toothbrushes, flossers, and toothpaste for each hamper, wrapping, ribbons and cards to be able to prepare the gifts for delivery in time for Christmas.
Community members are welcome to include a personal note with their donations to be passed on to recipients.
Donations can be made at Dental on Cambridge 4/99 Cambridge Parade, Manly from Monday to Thursday, 8:30-6pm, and Fridays 8:30-5:00pm.
