FROM WYNNUM GOLF CLUB
Wynnum Golf Club members Erik Salonen and Ron Johnson (pictured) are organising a charity golf day at Wynnum Golf Club on June 28 to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA), which aims to reduce the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men and their families.
Erik and Ron wanted to organise this event because of the number of men who have been impacted by prostate cancer at Wynnum Golf Club.
Advice from the PCFA is that one in six Aussie men will hear the devastating news they have prostate cancer, and every dollar raised during this charity event will provide vital funding for prostate cancer research, awareness and support through the PCFA. The PCFA relies on the community’s generosity to do their essential work.
An entry fee of $70 per person includes a four-person ambrose event, lunch at the close of play and a presentation by a PCFA representative to raise awareness of prostate cancer and the support services available through the PCFA. This will be followed by a prize presentation and an auction of major prizes (e.g., a game of golf for four players, including carts, at Twin Waters Golf Club, Sunshine Coast), with the funds going to the PCFA.
Erik and Ron thank the Gold sponsors BMD and Qube and Silver sponsors CNW Electrical Wholesalers and Bartons for their kind support and sponsorship of this important event.
