BY MITCHELL BEAUCHAMP, MEN’S WALK & TALK BAYSIDE
It’s great to have the football back!
Men’s Walk & Talk members were excited to be invited to the 2023 season-opening trial match between the Wynnum Manly Seagulls vs. Brisbane Broncos at BMD Kougari Oval. Throughout the day, we connected with the community and showcased everything Men’s Walk & Talk.
Despite the rain and heat, the crowd was fantastic, and the atmosphere was awesome. The Broncos emerged victorious with a score of 44-12.
We were honoured to have former New Zealand International Steve Kearney visit and show his support for what we do.
A huge thank you to the Wynnum Manly Seagulls for their support, and we look forward to welcoming them at our upcoming Men’s Walk & Talk Bayside.
Men’s Walk & Talk is a health, mental health, and wellness organisation that aims to connect men and build stronger communities. The organisation is based on the simple concept of men supporting each other in a healthy environment through walking, talking, and connecting. This creates a space for men to openly discuss their feelings, build stronger relationships with each other, and improve their mental fitness.
Every day we lose seven men and two women to suicide, and we have drawn a line in the sand here at Men’s Walk & Talk. We encourage men not to man up, harden up, or toughen up but to speak up and share their stories.
As we walk towards our 100th Men’s Walk & Talk in Minnippi on March 5th and our 50th Men’s Walk & Talk Bayside on March 9th, we’d love to have as many of our community members join us in celebration.
