FROM THE DONALD SIMPSON COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Donald Simpson Community Centre proudly hosted a special luncheon for its esteemed Over 90s Club, celebrating the remarkable longevity and vibrant community spirit of its members. Nearly 40 members aged over 90 accepted the invitation from CEO Thomas Jithin to attend this event.

The attendees were warmly welcomed by Chairman Brian McDonald, who congratulated them on their impressive longevity and encouraged them to continue participating in the centre’s diverse activities. “Your presence here today is a testament to your resilience and zest for life,” McDonald remarked.
CEO Thomas Jithin highlighted the enthusiasm for the event, noting that over 50 had registered, but the inclement weather prevented some from attending. Among the distinguished guests was a member who will be celebrating their 102nd birthday in May. Currently, the centre has two members over 100 years old who regularly participate in its activities.
The luncheon featured a delightful three-course meal, providing an excellent opportunity for members to interact and enjoy each other’s company. Thomas expressed his admiration, stating, “It’s amazing to see people living well at this age, keen to interact, and still making new friends.”
This initiative is a proud moment for the Donald Simpson Community Centre, however the centre continues to welcome individuals of all ages to participate in its 40 weekly activities. The centre remains committed to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for the entire community. There is no age limit to join the centre, and all are welcome.
