FROM DENTAL ON CAMBRIDGE
Dental on Cambridge is a local family-owned practice on Cambridge Parade in Manly and one that is always looking for ways to support our local community.
The practice is often approached for donations by larger organisations across Brisbane; however, its main focus remains the local community.
In 2021, in the lead-up to Christmas, Dental on Cambridge partnered with BABI Youth and Family Service in Wynnum to provide some much-needed cheer for their young people’s Christmas event.
This year, in the spirit of sharing the support across our community, the practice will be supporting another local charity, Silky Oaks’ Family Care and Support Program, a housing and homelessness program.
Whilst Christmas is often seen as the time to give, Silky Oaks have identified that back-to-school is always an area of need for their service users. After the Christmas demand for spending, it’s often an area where people need assistance to ensure their children are ready to commence a new school year.
Dental on Cambridge will be donating (as well as collecting) donations of back-to-school supplies during November, December, and early January at the practice. While any donation will be warmly accepted, we’re asking the community to purchase an additional product they would typically purchase for their own family or relatives in preparation for the school year. Examples of suitable products would be HB pencils, erasers, colouring pencils, textas, highlighters, pencil cases, exercise books with ruled lines, scrapbooks with plain paper, rulers and calculators.
In early January, the Dental on Cambridge team will collate the donated items into school packs, ready for distribution to the team at Silky Oaks to deliver to families in need.
Community members are welcome to include a personal note with their donations to be passed on to recipients.
Donations can be made at Dental on Cambridge 4/99 Cambridge Parade, Manly – Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 6:00pm, and Fridays 8:30am to 5:00pm.
