Blue Tongue Kitchen is excited to offer a variety of cooking classes for the community, including fun and engaging workshops for both kids and adults. On selected Saturdays, children can enjoy hands-on lessons in sushi making or cupcake decorating, while adults can unwind with a beverage of choice as they master dishes like sizzling seafood paella or make pasta from scratch. These community-focused classes provide a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people, and explore the art of cooking.
In addition to these community classes, Blue Tongue Kitchen also runs 10-week cooking workshops tailored specifically for NDIS participants. Due to growing demand, these workshops will be expanding to six classes per week starting in March. NDIS participants in these classes learn a wide variety of culinary skills, from savoury dishes to sweet delights. Many participants enjoy recreating the meals they’ve learned at home and sharing them with friends and family. Not only are they developing independence and confidence in the kitchen, but they’re also forming meaningful connections with others who share similar interests.
All classes at Blue Tongue Kitchen are taught by Allan Groat, a seasoned chef with 35 years of experience in Australia and abroad. Allan’s expertise is complemented by his role as the master pastry chef behind the indulgent treats in the Blue Tongue Pantry café’s dessert cabinet. His passion for food and dedication to teaching shines through in every class.
Whether you’re part of the broader community or an NDIS participant, Blue Tongue Kitchen offers a welcoming environment where everyone can learn, grow, and enjoy the joys of cooking.
