As part of BMD’s graduate program, Foundations, participants built and auctioned outdoor mud kitchens and dog kennels with $1900 raised and donated to the Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed.
With over 60 graduates across engineering, human resources, accounting, communications and construction management, collaboration was in full swing during the construction process in designing and building outdoor mud kitchens and dog kennels. Split into six project teams, BMD’s graduates worked together to deliver a product of exceptional craftsmanship on time and within budget.
Dare Power, BMD Group Executive – People and Process, said the BMD Group’s future is looking brighter than ever in the hands of graduates.
“At BMD, we believe in the power that fresh and diverse perspectives bring to our business and welcome innovative and passionate graduates. BMD is proud to have supported the Wynnum Men’s Shed in their pursuit to advance the wellbeing and health of their members,” Dare said.
Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed is a community-based organisation accessible by all men in Wynnum and the surrounding suburbs looking for a safe and friendly environment where men are welcome to work on meaningful projects at their own pace in the company of other men.
“We were delighted to have been approached by BMD to receive the proceeds raised by the graduates. We were thankful for the opportunity to meet the BMD family and watch the auction unfold at BMD’s head office at the Port of Brisbane,” Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed president David Westlake said.
