BABI Youth & Family Service is delighted to announce its inaugural Bright Futures Fundraising Dinner, to be held on Saturday 8 November 2025 at the Wynnum Golf Club (76 Stradbroke Avenue, Wynnum). Doors open at 6:00pm for a welcome drink, followed by dinner and entertainment.
This special evening brings together community leaders, local businesses and residents for a night of entertainment, inspiration and fundraising – all in support of the young people and their families in the bayside. Tickets are now on sale and are limited, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to book now.
Since 1983, BABI has been a lifeline for young people aged 12 to 25, and families in the Brisbane Bayside region who are at risk of homelessness or are in need of support services.
Operating a range of vital wraparound programs, including supported accommodation, counselling, the “Get Set for Work” employment and training initiative, family support, and the Youth Space drop-in centre, BABI empowers young people to succeed, strengthens local families, and builds safer, more resilient communities.
However, demand for support continues to grow. In the 2024-25 year alone:
- BABI responded to over 195 requests for housing assistance, many driven by family breakdown, economic hardship or lack of affordable housing; and
- 49 young people and 65 young families received accommodation and case management support. The majority of families supported were single parent families.
The Bright Futures Dinner will feature a two-course sit-down meal (dinner and dessert), live music, entertainment and a raffle with fantastic prizes.
This Fundraising Dinner is both a celebration of the work that BABI does and all profits from the evening will go directly towards raising the funds needed to provide stronger support services now, and additional housing accommodation in the future.
