FROM OWN CAPALABA

If you’re looking to add something meaningful and uplifting to your life, the Older Women’s Network Capalaba (OWN) could be just the place to start.

OWN Capalaba is a welcoming and vibrant group where women come together to share conversation, laughter, and genuine connection. The members have a wide range of interests, and every gathering offers a chance to learn something new or simply enjoy good company.

Recent meetings have featured engaging guest speakers like Emily Gould, who spoke about the Seniors Enquiry Line – a valuable service funded by the Queensland Government and operated by Uniting Care. It provides referrals and support across a variety of topics, including upcoming seniors’ events, scam prevention, Medicare mental health services, Carers Gateway, elder abuse support, My Aged Care, and more. You can reach them on 1300 135 500 or via email at [email protected].

OWN Capalaba is open to all women who celebrate ageing as a positive stage of life, with a focus on enhancing wellbeing through information and social activities. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 9:00am to 11:30am at the Capalaba Uniting Church, located on the corner of Ney Road and Zandra Street.

Additional social catch-ups happen on the third Wednesday or Friday, with members enjoying morning tea or lunch at various cafés around the Redlands Coast. If you’re curious to learn more or thinking of joining, reach out to Sue at 0430 535 326 or email [email protected].
