The Wynnum Manly Tourism and Visitor Information Centre’s newest display has visitors and locals flocking to witness a world-first.
Take a stroll down William Gunn Jetty and you will find a wealth of knowledge waiting within the Wynnum Manly Tourism and Visitor Information Centre (WMTVIC). This volunteer-run organisation is brimming with local insights on everything Wynnum-Manly and surrounding areas.
From day trips and island tours to local mechanic recommendations, the team at WMTVIC have the inside scoop on just about everything this side of the bayside, and have been a reliable source of information for both residents and tourists since opening 17 years ago in 2004.
The exciting addition of the Moreton Bay Discovery Centre will feature a world-first shorebird display, with live footage of Moreton Bay’s (Quandamooka) iconic shorebird roost off Manly Harbour. This visually thrilling experience will delight and educate people of all ages, with the display also providing detailed information on the threats posed to migratory shorebirds, such as the Eastern Curlew, and actionable steps that can be taken to help protect them.
The WMTVIC also features a curated collection of gifts available for purchase, with many produced by local artisans, making this destination a must-do for anyone visiting the area, including residents wanting to explore their own backyard.
