There’s a scent of frangipani in the air, mingling with the sea breeze. Days are longer, and kids wait in anticipation for sunset, when homes come alive with Christmas lights, and an evening stroll becomes a joyous event.

When it comes to Christmas shopping, we’re blessed to have so many incredible local traders on the bayside, standing by with all the ingredients you need to make Christmas truly magical. Shopping and spending locally boosts our bayside economy, and Christmas is the perfect opportunity to show our local retailers some love.

And when it comes to Christmas spirit, we’ve got sleigh-loads of it on the bayside! Manly Harbour Village is twinkling, thanks to the Village Lights Christmas Competition – check out the details on page 5 – and Bayside Carols is back on December 21 with a spectacular program of performers (more on page 6).

As a community, we celebrated our local traders at last month’s Bayside Community Awards. There’s a full list of winners on page 27. Congratulations to the winners and the nominees – you each make our community a fantastic place to live, work and play.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to The Community Leader this year – its success really is a collective community effort. Merry Christmas!
