We asked the newly-formed Redland Coast Art Society members to tell us a little about their group.
What was the driving force behind establishing the Redland Coast Art Society?
Gloria Dietz-Kiebron: A circle of friends sharing a passion for fine arts joined forces to create a supportive community that would nurture their artistic pursuits and provide encouragement and guidance to Redlands residents.
What do you hope to achieve over the next 12 to 24 months?
Robin Wilson: We’d like to increase membership numbers and create a haven for like-minded artists.
Peter Wallach: To have our own venue for workshops and exhibitions.
Kat Christensen: To create good vibes in the Redlands community!
Gloria Dietz-Kiebron: We look forward to organising exhibitions geared towards the youth in our area, providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents.
Do you have any special events planned?
Angela Bruce: During Senior’s Month, the society will host an art-venture event in October with an exhibition at the conclusion.
During the year, we will host an exhibition of members’ artworks and crafts for sale, with a welcome to all our visitors.
Can I join, and how do I find out more?
If you’d like to join the society, the members would love to hear from you. You don’t need to be an experienced artist – just an enthusiastic one! Beginners are most welcome, so why not try something new?
