The Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly, along with sponsor partner Ampol, is delighted to host the Ampol Rotary Family Fun Day, a free event on Sunday, May 21, from 10am – 2pm at George Clayton Park (near the bandstand on Lower Esplanade, Wynnum).
The Ampol Rotary Family Fun Day is a chance for families to get out and enjoy a day in the park, have fun, and learn how to stay safe in the local community. This popular event is held in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It aims to bring together all parts of the community to provide a day of fun and entertainment while focusing on reducing crime and violence and improving the community’s safety through education and access to local support services.
There will be loads of free food and family entertainment, including a jumping castle, magicians and jugglers, face painting, petting zoos, balloon twisters, tug of war, various children’s races, and art activities. Bring the whole family along to enjoy the free sausage sizzle, fresh fruit and free bags of popcorn.
In addition to all these activities, a full four-hour musical program will include two performances by multi-Golden Guitar-winning country music sensation and 2023 Female Vocalist of the Year Amber Lawrence.
The day would not be possible without the support of other local service groups, support agencies, and our local Fire, Ambulance and Police colleagues.
“Our Rotary Club is committed to strengthening family safety through continued education and support, and we believe that celebrating a Family Day with access to information and fun activities is an important first step in helping to keep our local community aware and safe,” said Wynnum and Manly Rotary Club co-presidents Tracey Wyatt and Rod Fletcher in a joint statement.
“Over the past six years, our Family Fun Days have attracted crowds in excess of 3000 people, so we are excited to be able to host yet another family event that can be enjoyed by everyone in our community.”
