The Wynnum Manly Jazz Festival has been a beloved annual event for the past two decades, bringing joy to the community, only interrupted by the unwelcome arrival of Covid.
However, this year’s festival carries a bittersweet note as it marks the final festival to be organised by Gloria Davey, as she retires from the festival committee. Gloria, a well-known local figure and OAM recipient, has dedicated herself to serving the community for over sixty years.
Traditionally held on Father’s Day, the festival takes place on the picturesque foreshore at Wynnum. Generously funded by the Brisbane City Council, the event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of local committees who work to provide various delectable food, refreshing drinks, and captivating entertainment for enthusiastic jazz fans.
Grab your chairs, gather the family, and immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of the jazz performers. Make this year’s festival a truly unforgettable experience for yourself and your dad on the scenic Wynnum foreshore. The festival promises to be a delightful outing for the entire family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Come down to Bandstand Park at Wynnum (below Gordon Parade) on September 3.
