The Manly-Lota RSL encourages the community to come together on 25 April 2026 for a morning of remembrance honouring the courage, sacrifice and enduring legacy of the ANZACs and all who have served since. As one of Australia’s most significant national commemorations, ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces in World War I, and continues to hold deep meaning for generations.
The day begins with the Dawn Service at 4:15am (assemble at 4:00am) at Richard Russell Park, Manly. The ANZAC Day March starts at 8:00am, stepping off from outside Manly State School. The march will make its way to Richard Russell Park, where the Mid-morning Service will commence shortly after, concluding at approximately 9:30am. Hosted by the Manly-Lota RSL Sub Branch, the ceremony will uphold the traditions that define ANZAC Day, including the laying of wreaths, the sounding of the Last Post and the observance of a minute’s silence.
Community members are invited to participate in the service, observe the ceremony or lay a wreath or poppy in tribute. Those wishing to lay a wreath are encouraged to contact the Manly-Lota RSL office ahead of time.
Following the service, veterans, families and the wider community are welcome to gather at the Manly-Lota RSL Sub-Branch Memorial Hall at 184 Melville Terrace for morning tea, continuing the spirit of reflection and connection.
This annual ceremony offers a meaningful opportunity for the community to stand together, honour the past and ensure the legacy of the ANZACs endures.
