FROM THE WYNNUM MANLY & DISTRICTS MEN’S SHED

Let me tell you all a story ’bout a gal named Kell, a cancer survivor whose story we can tell. She took out her ‘bucket-list’ and wrote herself a plan, then she went out that day and bought herself a van.

With the necessity of negotiating the Bruce Highway, she wisely visited the Wynnum Manly Men’s Shed to make sure everything was bolted and secured in the van before she ventured forth along the ‘Highway From Hell’. Once on the road, she will catch up with her tribe of like-minded blue-rinse nomads, launching themselves into new adventures.

With the ladies now in convoy and Kell determined to make the most of her second chance in life, she and her adventurous ladies will motor on with their new mantra: Mobile, single and ready to mingle!

The convoy will head south for Adelaide, the city of churches. No, no, only kidding! They’re off to the Barossa and Clare Valley wineries, where they will stop for sightseeing, R&R, and, of course, to take on supplies – some nice cases of merlot and pinot noir they can sample each night at ‘happy hour’ after they haul up and ‘circle the wagons’. They’ll also need to pop a few corks as they spend balmy nights camping while enjoying the magnificent sights of the glorious Great Ocean Road.

Then, the plan escalates. A hop, skip, and jump across the Nullarbor to the world-famous Margaret River wineries in Western Australia. There, they will visit the exceptional Voyager and Leeuwin wineries, where they intend to excite and sate their delicate palates.

Since they have travelled so far, why not finish it off and go right around Australia? Yes, why not?

So Kell, sorry we couldn’t fit the pottery wheel and the 100cm TV screen in the van, but you’ll have enough to keep you busy. Good health, happy motoring, and see you when you eventually return.
