FROM THE MANLY-LOTA RSL SUB-BRANCH
Vietnam Veterans’ Day is commemorated on August 18, the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan. This battle was one of the most significant conflicts for Australian service personnel who fought in the Vietnam War. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War.
Every year, the RSL remembers the sacrifices of almost 60,000 Australians made, including more than 500 who died and some 3,000 who were wounded, during 10 years of our involvement in the Vietnam War.
The Manly-Lota RSL Sub-Branch invites the community to join us for a service at Richard Russell Park, Manly (on the Corner of Cambridge Parade and Carlton Terrace) at 11:00 am on August 18 2023, to honour the many Vietnam veterans who volunteer their time in Sub-Branches and in their local communities, who served and sacrificed for our nation during the Vietnam War.
Veterans, their families, friends and the local community are invited to the Manly-Lota RSL Sub-Branch hall at 184 Melville Terrace, Manly, after the service, for light refreshments.
