CONTRIBUTED BY NIGHT NINJAS INC
Night Ninjas Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-funded charity set up in 2015 to help those in our Redlands community who, at the time, were homeless and needing assistance with food, tents, etc. Over the years since, we have expanded to assist local families struggling with the cost of living and those in emergency accommodation, with food hampers and frozen meals.
We provide a helping hand-up to people in our community when they need it in their time of crisis, giving them a non-judgemental, human connection throughout that journey. We can only do this because of the amazing generosity of our community. We use all that we are given and give it out again through a well-oiled machine formed by our awesome group of volunteers.
We have a number of teams set up to carry out various duties which include cooking single frozen meals, administration, public speaking, media, organising our storage unit and Christmas hamper program, dropping off hampers each day and others.
We are very excited to have just received a grant for a new van to join our first, which will enable us to hold more Night Feeds and breakfasts. At the moment, we hold a night feed in Cleveland and one in Birkdale, and two breakfasts for our SMBI students at the Redland Bay Ferry Terminal. The vans are sign-written, so if you see us driving around, give us a wave.
If you’d like to know more about becoming a volunteer, please contact us by email, website (www.nightninjas.com.au), or Facebook message.
