FROM THE BAYSIDE COMMUNITY FUND

The Bayside Community Fund (BCF) is proud to announce that the Bayside Community Awards are back again this year. Nominations open on September 1, voting begins on October 1, and winners will be announced on November 7 at a gala event.

There are several new categories this year, including Bayside Educator of the Year, sponsored by the fund’s patron, the state member for Lytton Joan Pease. This award allows students and parents to nominate their favourite teacher.

“I’m delighted to be sponsoring the new award category of best educator,” said Ms Pease. “A teacher’s positive influence on our children is life-long. It’s fitting we recognise their immense contribution to the community.”

The inaugural awards held last year attracted an amazing number of nominations for people and businesses in our community, resulting in over 9,000 votes being received. Winners were announced at a dinner attended by over 350 people at Wynnum Manly Leagues Club.

If you want to nominate a business, educator, community group, or individual to be recognised as a bayside champion, please nominate them during September by scanning the QR code or visiting the BCF website.

Once nominations are finalised, voting will commence. Nominations will be published in the October edition of The Community Leader and on the BCF website.

The 2023 awards night sold out quickly, so to secure your tickets, please book early to avoid any disappointment. We have a great evening planned with a DJ, comedy act and great food.

We would like to thank our sponsors, who make this event possible.
