If you’ve grown up seaside on the bayside, chances are you’ve got fond memories of days spent on and off the water. Sunset fish and chips by the bay, casting a line from the shore at dawn, spotting dolphins, school trips on the Cat-o-Nine-Tails to St Helena Island, and learning to sail – the bay is a playground of epic proportions!
Then there are the community events, like the annual Fishing Classic, that’s fun for all ages and brings us together for friendly competition.
This year’s Green Beacon Wynnum Marine Moreton Bay Fishing Classic will feature an exciting charter of events on and off the water, hosted by Manly Harbour Boat Club. Sensational prizes are up for grabs, including a cool Stacer boat, Yamaha motor and trailer package, and the first 50 children to register will score a free rod and reel thanks to Wilson Fishing*.
Anglers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enter the week-long comp, and you can fish on or offshore, so you don’t need a boat to participate.
