Thirsty Merc will be Bayside Music Hall’s inaugural act on June 19.
A world-class music venue in the heart of Brisbane’s bayside launches this June, headlined by one of Australia’s finest live acts, Thirsty Merc.
Built in the 1970s by the community and for the community, the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre’s auditorium is now being transformed into the Bayside Music Hall, giving this classic space a new legacy for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Launching Sunday 19th June with Thirsty Merc, one of Australia’s best bands, and supported by local legend Tom Oliver, this is a venue with character, history, and great bones reimagined for the music and art lovers of the bay.
“We discovered this space during the festival with its polished floors and a bar to boot,” Wynnum Fringe festival founder Tom Oliver explained.
“We’re so keen for locals and visitors to experience world-class entertainment all year round in the bayside.”
Thirsty Merc is the number one choice to lead the launch party, having released four critically acclaimed albums with over 250,000 album sales. The band’s hits include In the Summertime (the theme for Bondi Rescue) and 20 Good Reasons (number one on iTunes in Australia and finalist for APRA Song of the Year).
Be part of the next chapter of the bayside’s cultural scene, and celebrate world-class music in your own backyard at Bayside Music Hall.
