The healing power of horses with H.E.A.R.T. - The Community Leader and Real Estate New and Views

H.E.A.R.T.’s Renee Commins with Bayside Community Fund Chairman Michael Sarquis.

Nestled just 10 kilometres from the bustling heart of Brisbane’s CBD at Hemmant is a haven where young people of all ages and abilities can immerse themselves in the therapeutic embrace of rural life. Welcome to H.E.A.R.T. – a not-for-profit community-based organisation that fosters wellbeing through horse-oriented activities.

Each month, H.E.A.R.T.’s paddock plays host to a diverse array of visitors – clients, families, staff, volunteers, and members of the wider community.

At H.E.A.R.T., inclusivity is paramount. Regardless of a young person’s background or ability, they are welcome to participate in the transformative experiences. Through affordable and accessible programs, H.E.A.R.T. promotes physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.

At the core of H.E.A.R.T.’s mission are three fundamental objectives: to instil in people a love and respect for horses, to promote a holistic approach to education about horses and horsemanship, and to enhance the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of all participants.

Central to their offerings is a comprehensive program of Horse-Assisted Learning, designed to harness the unique bond between humans and horses for therapeutic purposes. Participants engage in health-focused activities that nurture physical fitness and cultivate emotional resilience and social skills.

H.E.A.R.T. provides opportunities for skill development in riding and horsemanship, empowering individuals to connect with these majestic creatures on a deeper level. Through supervised volunteer and peer mentoring programs, particularly tailored for young people, valuable skills are shared, and meaningful connections are forged.
